Ingredients
1 (16-ounce) package ziti pasta
28 ounces Rao’s marinara sauce, or any brand of choice
1/2 jar Tomato Achaar
2 tablespoons Roasted Garlic Achaar
24 ounces ricotta cheese
1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Method
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the ziti pasta and cook according to package directions, cooking 2-3 minutes less so your pasta is al dente. Drain and rinse.
In a medium bowl, combine Rao’s marinara sauce, Tomato Achaar, and Roasted Garlic Achaar. Stir well to create a spiced and flavorful sauce.
In a separate large bowl mix ricotta cheese, 1/2 the shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/2 the Parmesan, the beaten egg, and 1½ cups of the achaar-infused pasta sauce. Mix in the cooked pasta to this bowl.
Transfer the ziti mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with the remaining achaar-infused pasta sauce, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
Cover the baking dish with tin foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 25 minutes. If you like to brown the cheese even more, broil for 2 minutes.
Allow the baked ziti to stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Serve with Roasted Garlic Achaar for those who want more heat!
